DRESS CODE
INTRODUCTORY CLASSES
Creative Concepts, Discover Dance, KinderCombo + Intermediate Progression have required studio uniforms. All studio uniforms + dance shoes can be purchased at Premiere. Click HERE for the full Introductory Dress Code.
FOUNDATIONAL CLASSES
All ballet classes have a required studio uniform. All other classes have a dress code. All studio uniforms + dance shoes can be purchased at Premiere. Click HERE for the full Foundational Dress Code.
SHORT-TERM CLASSES / SUMMER AND WINTER CAMPS + CLASSES​
There is no specific dress code for short-term classes. Dancers should wear form-fitting moveable clothing. Bare feet or ballet shoes can be worn. Tap shoes are highly encouraged for tap classes.
BALLET REQUIREMENT
Ballet is required in order to enroll in a jazz, lyrical, contemporary, or pointe class. Ballet must be taken in the same season as these additional classes. A student wanting to take hip hop, acro, tap, pom or musical theatre is not required to enroll in ballet.
DROPPING A CLASS / WITHDRAWING
At Premiere, tuition is based on a full-season commitment and divided into 11 equal installments. Each payment covers a set number of classes rather than a specific month. As a result, withdrawals must align with this tuition structure, with the final installment due at the time of the drop. All withdrawal requests must be initiated in writing by emailing office@
Premiere reserves the right to make schedule changes up to two weeks prior to class commencement.
CLASS ATTENDANCE
Please notify the studio by phone, email, or the Parent Portal if your child is sick or planning to be absent from class. Dancers are allowed up to 3 make-up classes / season. Make-ups must be scheduled through the office and taken within 7 days of the missed class. Your dancer may attend any class in their age range that is not full. Studio wide make-up classes will only be available if the studio is closed due to inclement weather or other extraneous circumstances.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS
Classes with fewer than 6 students will be canceled. If a class is canceled, families will be refunded for classes not provided.
2026-2027 CLASS CANCELLATION SCHEDULE
- Classes with fewer than 3 students – Canceled immediately
- Classes with 4 students – Runs for 4 weeks, must reach 6 students by Sunday, 9/13, or will be canceled
- Classes with 5 students – Runs for 5 weeks, must reach 6 students by Sunday, 9/20, or will be canceled
If a class does not reach the 6-student minimum by the listed deadline, it will be canceled. We will recommend alternative class options, and if none are suitable, your registration + membership fees will be credited to your Premiere account for use on any other class, event, apparel, etc. at Premiere.
BEHAVIOR / DISCIPLINE
At Premiere we believe in building a nurturing environment that manifests students’ confidence, discipline + lifelong friendships. Our team follows a structured behavior management plan to provide consistency for your child in all classes. All students + families at Premiere are required to respect fellow classmates, teachers + staff. Disrespectful behavior may result in dismissal from classes or programs.
ANNUAL RECITAL
Details on Premiere’s Annual Recital can be found HERE. Dancers choosing not to participate in Premiere’s annual recital need to notify Premiere by December 15th in order to receive a refund on any costume payments. After December 15th, recital refunds will not be processed.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Premiere generally follows the Waukee School District on all weather related cancellations. If school is canceled and the weather improves by the afternoon, Premiere may hold classes. If the weather is questionable please expect an email confirming any changes to the class schedule by 2p that day. Updates will be posted on our social media. When classes are canceled, dancers are allowed to make-up their class by attending another class of the same level within 1 month of the cancellation date. This does not count against allotted make up classes for the season. season. Please email the office prior to attending a make-up class.
OBSERVATION OF CLASS
A viewing window is available for parents to watch classes. Please be respectful of studio property and others around you when in the waiting area.
