Introductory Classes | Ages 1.5-7

Premiere’s Introductory Classes are intentionally created for early childhood development — giving dancers ages 18 months-7 years the foundation they need to love dance, learn classroom skills, and build confidence. Our curriculum is structured, age-specific, and taught consistently across instructors so every child experiences success week after week.

Introductory dancers earn Hardworking Student Cards throughout the season and are eligible for Dancer of the Month — helping them connect effort to progress in a fun, encouraging way. Families are encouraged to follow our recommended number of classes per week to help their child grow at a steady, developmentally appropriate pace.

INTRODUCTORY CLASS RECOMMENDATIONS

PARENT + ME | ages 18 months – 2 years

This 30-minute class introduces young dancers 18 months and up to their first classroom experience, helping them feel comfortable and confident in a dance setting. Through playful movement and simple motor-skill activities, children learn and explore alongside their parent or caregiver—building connection and confidence together.

This class performs in Premiere’s Winter In-Studio Showcase but does not participate in the Annual Recital.

CREATIVE CONCEPTS | AGES 2-3 YEARS

This 30-minute class is designed for children ages 2-3, fostering imagination and movement through song and dance. Students are introduced to basic ballet concepts, terminology, and classroom behavior in a playful setting. This class performs in Premiere’s Winter In-Studio Showcase + the Annual Recital.

Students ages 2-3 are encouraged to take 2 classes per week. Other recommended options include Tumble Tots.

TUMBLE TOTS | AGES 2-3 YEARS

This 30-minute class for children ages 2-3 develops flexibility, balance, and body control while building strength and coordination. It also helps students strengthen classroom habits and form a positive bond with their instructor. Throughout the year students will work on locomotive skills, forward rolls + strengthening exercises. This class performs in Premiere’s Winter In-Studio Showcase + the Annual Recital.

Students ages 2-3 are encouraged to take 2 classes per week. Other recommended options include Creative Concepts.

This 45-minute class introduces dancers ages 3-4 to the basics of ballet and tap in a fun, structured environment. Students build coordination, rhythm, and confidence while learning class structure, musicality, and teamwork. This class performs in Premiere’s Winter In-Studio Showcase + the Annual Recital.

Students ages 3-4 are encouraged to take 2 classes per week. Other recommended options include Introductory Acro, Introductory Hip Hop, Introductory Musical Theatre, and Introductory Pom.

Designed for dancers ages 4-5, this 60-minute class expands on the foundations learned in Discover Dance. Students dive deeper into ballet terminology and tap steps while developing musicality, spatial awareness, and confidence. This class performs in Premiere’s Winter In-Studio Showcase + the Annual Recital.

Students ages 4-5 are encouraged to take 2–3 classes per week. Other recommended options include Introductory Acro, Introductory Hip Hop, Introductory Musical Theatre, and Introductory Pom.

This 45-minute class for dancers ages 3-5 focuses on flexibility, balance, and body control through basic tumbling and floor exercises. Students develop strength and coordination while learning class etiquette and teamwork. Students should be proficient in forward rolls to participate. Throughout the year students will work on forward + backward rolls, headstands and cartwheels. This class performs in Premiere’s Winter In-Studio Showcase + the Annual Recital.
