Jamie Huinker grew up in Denison, Iowa at her mother’s and aunt’s dance studio. She began dancing at the age of two and began tumbling at the age of four. Her dance passion has always been tap. Her twin brother and she were dance partners and won many national dance competitions and were Bill Riley State Fair Champions in 1999. After college, she moved back home and taught alongside her mother and aunt for eight years. Now living in West Des Moines, Iowa, Jamie has 23 years of dance teaching experience under her belt with specialties in tap and tumbling. She prides herself on finding multiple ways of teaching and coaching to address each student’s individual learning style while always being their biggest cheerleader. Jamie is a full time sixth grade teacher at ADM schools where she teaches ELA and social studies. In her free time, she can be found watching her 14 year old daughter perform on stage in theater and playing volleyball and her eleven year old son play football and club basketball. She enjoys date nights with her husband and walks with her french bulldog Margo, too!
