Premiere's instructors & staff have an extensive background in both performance and teaching all stages of a dancer's development.
CO-OWNER / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Amanda currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in dance and an Entrepreneurial Management Certificate from the University of Iowa. In addition, she is a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor through ACE and the Yoga Alliance. Amanda is a certified dance instructor through Dance Masters of America.
Amanda’s dance career began at the age of 5 and she has been dancing ever since. Growing up, Amanda was especially involved in competitive dance and traveled to New York City multiple times to further her training with companies such as the Rockettes. After graduating high school, she decided to continue her education at the University of Iowa where she studied under faculty such as George de la Peña and Jessica Anthony. Amanda has choreographed for competitive studios throughout the state and worked in classes with numerous dancers of all ages.
Amanda is passionate about continuing to further her education and sharing her knowledge and love for dance with the youth of the Des Moines area.
CO-OWNER / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Aunica trained under Adonica Struhar at the Spotlight School of Dance in Corning, IA for 14 years. After graduating from High School, Aunica attended the University of Iowa to earn her Bachelor of Arts in dance and Bachelor of Business Administration. Aunica performed at the University of Iowa in concert pieces by choreographers such as Chafin Seymour. In addition she took class from renowned professors like Eloy Barragán and Armando Duarte.
Aunica has years of teaching and choreographing for both the recreational and competitive stages. Aunica has attended the Dance Masters of America National convention and other teacher training programs around the country. She is always eager to learn from other dancers, choreographers, and dance educators. Aunica is currently a certified Dance Masters of America Member, certified yoga instructor, and certified personal trainer through the ACE fitness certification program. Aunica enjoys using her love for dance to help dancers discover their full potential and achieve their goals.
Natalie began dancing at the age of 3. She always dreamed of being a dance teacher. She has a passion for dance and working with children. Miss Natalie has 10 years of teaching experience and has also performed at Disney World. Her favorite styles of dance are ballet and lyrical. Natalie loves building strong relationships with with her students while having fun in class!
Spencer has been dancing for 15 years at Performance Dance Centre and is currently in the dance company Breakthrough Movement. She has had the honor of being crowned Petite Miss Dance and Junior Miss Dance through Dance Masters of America as well as Miss Dance Bravo. Spencer has also performed in many shows and been Clara in the CY Stephens Nutcracker performance. Spencer loves learning and attends as many teacher trainings as possible. She enjoys passing her knowledge on to the students in her classes!
Brittany was raised in White Bear Lake, MN where she trained and competed at Larkin Dance Studio in Maplewood, MN. She continued to dancing by participating on her high school dance team and dance clubs at Iowa State University where she graduated with a B.S in Kinesiology May 2019. She has taught and choreographed for a number of studios and dance teams throughout the state of Iowa. She loves to share her knowledge of dance with others and is excited to continue spreading the joy of dance with her classes at Premiere.
Kiersten was born and raised in Creston, Iowa. She has been dancing for 19 years. Kiersten has 2 years of teaching experience and has taught at multiple studios in Iowa. She was a member of the Southwestern Community College dance team for 2 years and is currently a member of the Grandview University dance team. Kiersten loves being around kids and sharing her passion for dance with them!
Natalie was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and trained at Dance Motions Inc. She has been dancing for 14 years in musicals in addition to her studio training. She is currently pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre at Drake University. Natalie has a passion for working with kids and strives to create a positive environment for her students! She hopes all of her students can find confidence in their individual uniqueness. “Being yourself never goes out of style.” -Legally Blonde
Kyle has been dancing since the age of 3. He trained locally at the School of Classical Ballet and Dance under Serkan Usta and Lori Grooters where he focused primarily in ballet and tap. He performed for 10 years in Ballet Des Moines’ Nutcracker and spring show productions at the Hoyt Sherman Place and the Civic Center. Kyle has competed at the Youth American Grand Prix placing top 12 and receiving 1st place in the men’s category. He continued his training at the Harid Conservatory studying the Russian Vaganova method of ballet under internationally renowned instructors, Meelis Pakri and Victoria Schneider. Kyle is excited to be teaching at Premiere where he hopes to inspire the students with his passion for dance.
Katie has been dancing since the age of 4. She trained full time in Des Moines where she worked to perfect her ballet technique. During summers away she trained in all forms of dance, with a main focus in contemporary, jazz and ballet. She worked with modern companies in master classes and performed with Iowa Dance Theatre from the age of 8 to 17 where she was able to perform many lead roles in ballets like, the nutcracker, the little mermaid, and many contemporary works.
She has been teaching for 6 years and has had the opportunity to choreograph for the Iowa Dance Theatre Spring Show as well as for her home studio.
Miss Katie loves teaching and inspiring students to love dance as much as she does!
Raegen started her dancing career at a young age. She began training at Dance Explosion in Afton, Iowa. Participated on the dance team in high school and two years at the collegiate level with Southwestern Community College. She has been dancing with the Iowa Wolves, NBA G League team affiliated with the Minnesota Timberwolves, for three years. Graduating from Iowa State University in 2019 with a B.S. in Management and a minor in dance. She is excited to share her experience and passion of dance with the students at Premiere. She hopes her students will learn to be confident in their own skin and always have fun!
Ellie Sullivan was raised in Waukee. She has been dancing for 11 years and has experience training with multiple dance studios. Ellie performed the role of Clara in Iowa Dance Theatre's production of the Nutcracker in 2017. In addition, she has performed with the Waukee Varsity dance team. Ellie has been a teacher at Premiere for 2 years now. She loves seeing students learn and develop as dancers while building their love for dance!
Kendra grew up in West Des Moines dancing at multiple different studios in the area. She is a Valley High School and dance team graduate. Kendra went to college for ministry and event planning and owns an event planning and hand lettering business. She has a passion for helping others feel welcomed and informed about studio events and loves all things administration. Kendra hopes to create a lasting friendship with everyone who walks in the door and be there for them beyond the walls of dance!
