Premiere's instructors & staff have an extensive background in both performance and teaching all stages of a dancer's development.
CO-OWNER / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Amanda currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in dance and an Entrepreneurial Management Certificate from the University of Iowa. In addition, she is a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor through ACE and the Yoga Alliance. Amanda is a certified dance instructor through Dance Masters of America.
Amanda’s dance career began at the age of 5 and she has been dancing ever since. Growing up, Amanda was especially involved in competitive dance and traveled to New York City multiple times to further her training with companies such as the Rockettes. After graduating high school, she decided to continue her education at the University of Iowa where she studied under faculty such as George de la Peña and Jessica Anthony. Amanda has choreographed for competitive studios throughout the state and worked in classes with numerous dancers of all ages.
Amanda is passionate about continuing to further her education and sharing her knowledge and love for dance with the youth of the Des Moines area.
CO-OWNER / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Aunica trained under Adonica Struhar at the Spotlight School of Dance in Corning, IA for 14 years. After graduating from High School, Aunica attended the University of Iowa to earn her Bachelor of Arts in dance and Bachelor of Business Administration. Aunica performed at the University of Iowa in concert pieces by choreographers such as Chafin Seymour. In addition she took class from renowned professors like Eloy Barragán and Armando Duarte.
Aunica has years of teaching and choreographing for both the recreational and competitive stages. Aunica has attended the Dance Masters of America National convention and other teacher training programs around the country. She is always eager to learn from other dancers, choreographers, and dance educators. Aunica is currently a certified Dance Masters of America Member, certified yoga instructor, and certified personal trainer through the ACE fitness certification program. Aunica enjoys using her love for dance to help dancers discover their full potential and achieve their goals.
Natalie began dancing at the age of 3. She always dreamed of being a dance teacher. She has a passion for dance and working with children. Miss Natalie has 10 years of teaching experience and has also performed at Disney World. Her favorite styles of dance are ballet and lyrical. Natalie loves building strong relationships with with her students while having fun in class!
Emma Daniels grew up participating in competitive cheerleading. After High School she chose to pursue performing arts, with a dance emphasis at Iowa State University. She specialized in post modern-contemporary, and children’s movement studies. Emma loves to grow & bloom with all of her students!
Kiersten was born and raised in Creston, Iowa. She has been dancing for 19 years. Kiersten has 2 years of teaching experience and has taught at multiple studios in Iowa. She was a member of the Southwestern Community College dance team for 2 years and is currently a member of the Grandview University dance team. Kiersten loves being around kids and sharing her passion for dance with them!
Natalie was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and trained at Dance Motions Inc. She has been dancing for 14 years in musicals in addition to her studio training. She is currently pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre at Drake University. Natalie has a passion for working with kids and strives to create a positive environment for her students! She hopes all of her students can find confidence in their individual uniqueness. “Being yourself never goes out of style.” -Legally Blonde
Jess began dancing at the age of 3. She has trained in ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics. Jess started dancing competitively at the age of 6. She continued competing until she graduated from high school. Jess performed on her high school dance team all 4 years. After high school she joined the Drake University dance team. During her time at Drake, Jess taught dance for Ankeny Parks and Recreation. Jess loves teaching students of all ages the foundations of dance and passing on a love of dance that will last a lifetime!
Ellie Sullivan was raised in Waukee. She has been dancing for 11 years and has experience training with multiple dance studios. Ellie performed the role of Clara in Iowa Dance Theatre's production of the Nutcracker in 2017. In addition, she has performed with the Waukee Varsity dance team. Ellie has been a teacher at Premiere for 2 years now. She loves seeing students learn and develop as dancers while building their love for dance!
Shana danced for 23 years at VanCleve Dance Studio. She has been married 25 years and has two children. Shana started her own farm rescue in 2018 called Big Red's Barn. She currently owns over 100 animals including reptiles, geese, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, bunnies, and potbellied pigs! In her free time Shana crafts, gardens, and paints on old windows. Shana is passionate about people and helping everyone find their place in the Premiere family!
