Premiere's instructors & staff have an extensive background in both performance and teaching all stages of a dancer's development.
CO-OWNER / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Amanda is the Co-Owner & Artistic Director of Premiere Dance Project. Amanda is a Dance Masters of America certified dance teacher who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and an Entrepreneurial Management Certificate from the University of Iowa.
Amanda’s dance career began at a young age and has never stopped. Growing up, she was involved in competitive dance & student assistant programs. After graduating high school, Amanda decided to continue her education at the University of Iowa where she studied under faculty such as George de la Peña and Jessica Anthony. Amanda also holds certifications through Progressing Ballet Technique & the Yoga Alliance.
Amanda currently resides in the Waukee area with her husband Brent and dog, Millie. In her free time she likes to take walks, travel & spend time with friends and family.
Amanda’s passion is to educate the youth through her love for dance. She is committed to continuing to further her education to provide the best & most up to date training for her dancers.
CO-OWNER / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Aunica is the Co-Owner and Executive Director of Premiere Dance Project. Aunica has trained and studied dance her entire life. Her love of dance led to the launch of Premiere Dance Project in 2018 with Amanda. Since then, she has enjoyed sharing her knowledge of dance with her students.
Aunica attended the University of Iowa where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. At the University of Iowa Aunica performed in concert pieces by choreographers such as Chafin Seymour. In addition she took class from renowned professors like Eloy Barragán and Armando Duarte.
Aunica has her teaching certification from Dance Masters of America where she currently serves on the Chapter #47 board. In addition, she has received her Acrobatic Arts, Progressing Ballet Technique, and Yoga Teacher certifications.
Aunica enjoys using her love for dance to help dancers discover their full potential and achieve their goals inside and outside of the studio. When Aunica isn't at the studio you can find her outside on an adventure or spending time with her dog, Milo.
Nina grew up in Ohio and moved to Iowa to kick start her career. In high school she participated in cheerleading and all star dance team. She is a graduate of The University of Akron where she studied different genres of dance. Her favorite styles of dance are Ballet and Modern. Her favorite memory of dance was learning Martha Graham modern style of dance. Besides dance Nina loves all things Disney! Her three little girls that have ignited her love for dance once again. She is excited to empower our children, instill confidence and teach them to work hard to achieve their goals and dreams through dance!
Bailey was born and raised in Creston, IA, where she danced for 9 years. She continued to dance in the Northwest Dance Company and teach dance at local studios while studying at Northwest Missouri State University. At Northwest, Bailey received her degree in Art Education. She is excited to pursue her love of teaching dance arts at Premiere, while teaching young artists in the Waukee School District as well!
PERFORMANCE TEAM DIRECTOR
Kiersten was born and raised in Creston, Iowa. She has been dancing for 19 years. Kiersten has 2 years of teaching experience and has taught at multiple studios in Iowa. She was a member of the Southwestern Community College dance team for 2 years and is currently a member of the Grandview University dance team. Kiersten loves being around kids and sharing her passion for dance with them!
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT & EVENT DIRECTOR
Kendra grew up in West Des Moines dancing at multiple different studios in the area. She is a Valley High School and dance team graduate. Kendra went to college for ministry and event planning and owns an event planning and hand lettering business. She has a passion for helping others feel welcomed and informed about studio events and loves all things administration. Kendra hopes to create a lasting friendship with everyone who walks in the door and be there for them beyond the walls of dance!
Regan grew up in Norway, Iowa. Currently she is a student at Mercy College of Health Science, studying to be an Ultrasound Technician. She has grown up around dance. While in high school, she participated in show choir and loved being able to dance and perform with her friends. Regan loves to help people and is excited to be back in the dance environment. She looks forward to getting to know the parents and students that come by the front desk, and help them find their passion for dance!
Cameron was born in Des Moines, Iowa and has been dancing for 15 years. She has been teaching for three years. Cameron is currently a member of the Grand View University dance team and studying nursing for her degree. She is excited to inspire future dancers and drive them to have passion for dance!
RECREATIONAL PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Natalie was born and raised in the Chicagoland area and trained at Dance Motions Inc. She has been dancing for 14 years in musicals in addition to her studio training. She is currently pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre at Drake University. Natalie has a passion for working with kids and strives to create a positive environment for her students! She hopes all of her students can find confidence in their individual uniqueness. “Being yourself never goes out of style.” -Legally Blonde
Bailey has been dancing for 15 years and has experience training at multiple studios in the metro. She was awarded many opportunities during her dance career, including a scholarship to participate in drop-in classes at Broadway Dance Center in New York City.
Bailey has always had a strong passion for dance and has always wanted to be a dance teacher. Her goal is to provide a safe and fun space for kiddos to express themselves! Bailey is very excited to meet everyone and hopes your kiddos enjoy her classes as much as she enjoys teaching them!
Jen grew up in Portland, Oregon and has been dancing since she was 4. Jen was a member of Westside Dance Academy’s Performing Company (Tigard, Oregon), and this is where her love of tap began. Throughout high school, Jen continued dancing in musicals and acted as dance captain. Upon graduation, Jen left the West Coast to attend college at Marquette University. During her time in Milwaukee, Jen was fortunate enough to be able to continue dancing while pursuing her degrees in Public Relations and Writing-Intensive English. During college, Jen performed and choreographed for Dance Inc, the university’s first student-run dance organization. After college, Jen auditioned and was accepted to perform with Danceworks on Tap, an adult all-female tap ensemble. Jen is thrilled to join Premiere’s team and is committed to providing a passionate, dedicated, and fun environment for students.
FINE ARTS CLUB DIRECTOR
Katie has been dancing since the age of 4. She trained full time in Des Moines where she worked to perfect her ballet technique. During summers away she trained in all forms of dance, with a main focus in contemporary, jazz and ballet. She worked with modern companies in master classes and performed with Iowa Dance Theatre from the age of 8 to 17 where she was able to perform many lead roles in ballets like, the nutcracker, the little mermaid, and many contemporary works.
She has been teaching for 6 years and has had the opportunity to choreograph for the Iowa Dance Theatre Spring Show as well as for her home studio.
Miss Katie loves teaching and inspiring students to love dance as much as she does!
Raegen started her dancing career at a young age. She began training at Dance Explosion in Afton, Iowa. Participated on the dance team in high school and two years at the collegiate level with Southwestern Community College. She has been dancing with the Iowa Wolves, NBA G League team affiliated with the Minnesota Timberwolves, for three years. Graduating from Iowa State University in 2019 with a B.S. in Management and a minor in dance. She is excited to share her experience and passion of dance with the students at Premiere. She hopes her students will learn to be confident in their own skin and always have fun!
Ellie Sullivan was raised in Waukee. She has been dancing for 11 years and has experience training with multiple dance studios. Ellie performed the role of Clara in Iowa Dance Theatre's production of the Nutcracker in 2017. In addition, she has performed with the Waukee Varsity dance team. Ellie has been a teacher at Premiere for 2 years now. She loves seeing students learn and develop as dancers while building their love for dance!
